The Telangana Cabinet greenlit the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) to build a sprawling 30,000-acre city between Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar highways.
Key highlights:
Scope: Encompasses 56 villages across 7 mandals, including 36 villages under HMDA.
Funding: ₹90 crore allocated for initial development.
HMDA Expansion: Jurisdiction extended by 2 km, covering 1,255 villages (104 mandals, 11 districts).
This eco-friendly “fourth city” aims to balance urban growth with sustainability, positioning Telangana as a pioneer in futuristic infrastructure.
The state’s first post-bifurcation tourism policy targets:
27 Tourist Hubs: Full-scale development of sites like Warangal Fort, Ramappa Temple, and Hussain Sagar.
Global Spotlight: Preparations for Miss World 2025 (May 2024) to host delegates from 140+ countries.
Job Creation: Expected to boost hospitality, transport, and local handicraft sectors.
The Cabinet approved reforms to uplift women through:
Age Reforms: Minimum entry age reduced from 18 to 15, retirement age extended from 60 to 65.
Unified Networks: Merging rural (SERP) and urban (MEPMA) women’s groups under one umbrella.
Safety & Financial Inclusion: Enhanced access to credit, skill development, and entrepreneurship programs.
To address administrative gaps in villages:
Revival of Revenue Posts: Reinstating Village Revenue Officers (VROs) and Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs) in 10,954 villages.
Streamlined Administration: Ensuring efficient service delivery and resolving land-related disputes.
Telangana’s multi-pronged strategy—spanning urban innovation, tourism revival, women empowerment, and governance reforms—sets a bold roadmap for inclusive development. As the Future City takes shape and global events like Miss World 2025 shine a spotlight on the state, Telangana cements its reputation as a progressive, investor-friendly destination.
